[ History ] :
Dawn is taken from the end of Platinum, which has a similar plot to Diamond and Pearl with some changes. Since there really isn't a full plot of Platinum up on the net...
An overview of Diamond and Pearl's plot
Important changes that happened in Platinum's plot
[ Personality ] :
Please keep in mind that my Dawn is from the Pokemon gameverse, therefore she is a silent protagonist. Though silent doesn't mean she's without a personality! I believe that her interaction with the plot and the other characters says a lot about her.
Dawn, first and foremost, is a person that loves pokemon. After all, she left home at twelve to battle gym leaders and raise pokemon. People don't do this on a whim, they generally have to have a passion for pokemon, and Dawn has that for sure. She also has a big heart. From saving the world (as mentioned above) to just helping out everyday folk, Dawn doesn't mind putting her own goals on hold to help other people. In fact, if she wasn't so charitable, she probably wouldn't have gotten mixed up in any of team Galactic's antics to begin with. I guess being kind comes with it's price sometimes, but Dawn doesn't seem to particularly mind.
She's also pretty determined to win through the gym leaders, the elite four, and everyone else that stood in her way. This also includes her going into an alternate dimension to fix the mistakes of an antisocial guy who decided to become a god which... is an incredibly fearless thing to do if you really think about it. Even with the weight of the world on her shoulders, Dawn tends to keep a level head. However, sometimes she can be a bit hesitant, unlike her childhood friend Barry who rushes into everything. I don't think this is cowardice by any means though, I just think she's being cautious. Dawn's a thoughtful person who thinks things out, but, ultimately, her big heart usually makes decisions for her. After all, if she was going purely off of brains all the time, she probably wouldn't have jumped into an alternate dimension to save the world.
There's also a lot you can tell about Dawn as she reacts to other people. She seems to earn the respect of others easily, including professors who study pokemon, showing that she's rather dependable. Dawn also stands up to Team Galactic and Cyrus. Her interactions with Cyrus are actually really interesting because I think it really shows that she's a good judge of character because she didn't trust Cyrus or buy into the idea that he wanted to make the world a better place, and Dawn was very right about that. I also think that her ultimate showdown with Cyrus shows that she's unwilling to back down from even the most dangerous situations. There's also her rival and childhood friend, Barry, who is... a bit energetic, to say the least. Okay, really, he's kind of a spaz. Though putting up with him for all of her life, I imagine that Dawn can't be without her patience, though I do headcanon some snark in there too. Though, it's all in good fun, as Dawn understands that Barry is a good friend considering how she's willing to follow him in his antics. As I've said, Dawn is a good judge of character, so if she didn't know that Barry wasn't a good kid she wouldn't have followed him outside of town in the very beginning of the game.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
+ Dawn is determined when it comes to her goals in life and when it comes to doing the right thing.
+ Dawn is friendly, and gets along with both pokemon and other people.
+ She has a team of pokemon, pokemon are awesome.
- Sometimes, the need to do the right thing puts her in danger.
- Without her pokemon, she's a normal thirteen year old girl and as such has the average strength of someone her gender/age. She could never hold her own against some of the magical super powered people that are in vat.
[ Other Important Facts ] :
Dawn has a Pokemon Team! That's super important!
